Naked Dreams

Today I went in to check on Lydia while she was sleeping and found this.....
Lydia has now figured out how to take her diaper off!
I guess our days of sleeping with just a diaper on are over!
And yes, that spot on the right is pee and little did I know there was a whole lot more where that came from!

Just another update

Well we haven't been up to much lately but I felt the urge to post something
I've been busy making baby items for a boutique I'm opening in Ohio! Exciting! Intimidating! I absolutely love making things! My passion was once drawing and now it is making baby items! I find it almost therapeutic!
I am feeling sorry though that I haven' t kept up my drawing skills, hmm....
(check out my new blog littlelyddies.blogspot.com)

And we have spent many late nights with Lydia for the past week or so. Has anyone ever heard of night terrors? Well I think Lydia might get them because she wakes up at 1, 1:30 ish every morning screaming her head off and not wanting to go back  in her own bed. Any suggestions?
Although it makes for a tired Mommy the next day, I do enjoy the cuddles we share so early in the morning!

Birthday Girl!

I really can not believe that it has already been a year ago that Lydia was  entering the world as a tiny 7 lb. 10 oz baby! My how time fly's oh so fast, oh too fast!

Although I love her being a baby and sometimes wish she would stay small forever, I also enjoyand love watching her grow and learn new things Everyday!

Lydia is now walking like a pro and talking like... well a one year old.
She says baba, mama, dada, dog, duck, dora, pizza  and many more words which are definitely debatable.
She mimics sounds all the time so its hard to know if she is saying words or just imitating the sound of the word, either way it seems pretty good to me!

She is a chatter box and will try to have a conversation with anyone she comes across.
Lydia Loves strangers and if shes having a bad day all we have to do it go out in public and she will be all smiles waving to everyone she see's.

She's also constantly holding to phone up to her ear to say "hi dada", Lydia LOVES her Daddy!

She has so much personality for a little 1 yr old and makes us laugh all day long!

So here's the sweet little birthday girl!
Since she LOVES ELMO I made her an Elmo birthday cake (which took me way to long to make) and then some fun cupcakes to satisfy my need for a bit more of a girly party

Lydia did great digging right into her cake and shoving it in her mouth!

Here are some before and after pictures

Poor Elmo

Happy Birthday Lydia!
You'll never know how much you are Loved and the Joy you bring to so many people!

(You may want to mute when playing so you dont hear my annoying baby talking voice!)
OK this took me SOOOOO long to figure out how to put a video from my phone onto my blog so I hope you all enjoy seeing Lydia in action
She is a full time walker! No more of that crawling stuff for her!
Not only is she walking but she's also modeling one of my latest creations {pillowcase dress and fabric flower headband} It's hard to see but it looked darling on her in person, but I guess what doesn't look darling on this little doll

Elmo Live!

Elmo Live is in Georgia where Jeff was selling for the week so we got to go to the show before he went to work this morning! Lydia absolutely loves Elmo and as soon as she sees or hears anything Elmo she will start dancing and singing! We couldn't resist taking her so we could  see her excitement over this silly monster!
The picture above was taken on the way to the show and this is the face she makes when you sing "la la la la elmo song"

We had awesome seats right by the stage so Elmo and lots of other characters cam right down to Lydia!

It was sooo fun to go out and do something as a family! The nice thing about the summers is we get to spend all morning together when Lydia is her most fun!

Lydia's face was priceless as we watched her get sucked into sesame street! Even though by the end she was ready for a nap she did not fuss once but stayed glued to the show! She absolutely LOVES Elmo and I think she would watch him all day if I would let her!

We love you little Tweety bird and were so glad we got to spend such a fun morning with you!

oh what do you do in the summer time

Every summer we pack up and head to a new city for four months so Jeff can work! This year we're in sweet Alabama! So far we've had lots of fun exploring the city and making new friends!

This is Cosette, Lydias new best friend! We see her every day so they can play together! Its so fun to watch them chasing each other around and copying everything each other does! A favorite thing of theirs is understandably banging on chairs, everyone loves to do that right?

Thumbs up dude!

They are always sharing everything!

I let shared a popsicle with Lydia and she absolutely LOVED it! Who wouldn't!

We got to go check out the Montgomery zoo! We loved the white tigers!
Everyone asks us if their twins! Their only 5 weeks apart so they look just about the same size

This lion thought Lydia looked VERY tasty! I AGREE!
We almost died in this Alabama heat! I can't believe how hot and humid it gets here!

Yes, we fed those hungry monkeys! I know your not supposed to feed the animals but we couldn't resist giving them some of the babies crackers when the stood there so politely raising their hands! It was hilarious!

I did it!

Here you go... proof that I graduated!!
The whole time I sang in my head the theme song to Lydia's favorite show, Dora the explorer.. We did it, We did it, We did it Yeah! Lo Hicimos, We did it, We did it, Hurray!
This really was we and not just me, It was a combined effort to get me through with school and Im so grateful to have such an amazing and supportive husband who took such great care of Lydia while I was away so often!

My dad was able to come out to see us!

Lydia sure had fun with her Grandpa!

Now off to Alabama!!.....Really cool thing, I am on a plane at this very moment thanks to Southwest having FREE wireless internet!

By the way, I am thinking I will go private soon so send me your address if you'd like to keep checking us out!

Pictures to come... don't worry Ill show you proof that I actually graduated, though is seems hard to believe!

Happy Easter.... she dosent look too happy in this picture though
The boys strutting their stuff
Lydia loving the pool

We just got back from truly the most beautiful place I have ever been, Maui! It was so fun to take Lydia and spend time with family. My only regret is not bring my camera! What was I thinking! Thankfully Grandpa took some great pictures for us! Our week included lots of time at the beach and pool, a message for the Moms and lots of golfing for the Dads! Lydia LOVED the water so I can't wait for summer to begin so we can go swimming all the time!

911

This morning while I was changing Lydia's diaper I opened the blinds only to see our neighbors trash up in flames!
Lydia loves fire so she got excited by the sight while I got panicked thinking at any moment the strong wind would set the house on fire!
At least those neighbors just moved out so no one would be in the house, but since we live in a town home it's practically part of our house.
After calling 911 some kids came to try to put it out with a hose and had succeeded until the wind blew and it started back up.
Soon after the firman came and I felt sort of foolish because by that time it was a little flame.
After writing down a statement they had me try to identify the kid I saw while standing in Lydia's room giving the officers a thumbs up or thumbs down as they brought out innocent teenagers from all the surrounding houses. I found the kid I saw, who turned out not to be the one who started the fire.
Th cause: Matches to a bottle of hairspray... really smart kids, come on!

So thats what teenagers are doing these days... didn't your parents ever tell you not to play with fire!

Now my question is, who's going to clean up the mess?

Motherhood

I have been reflecting lately on the joy I have being a mother. I feel so blessed to have the privilege of motherhood in my life. Motherhood is something that I have dreamed about since I was a little girl and I can't believe that it is even better and more rewarding than I could have ever dreamed of. Lydia has shown me so much and made me feel things I didn't even know existed. It is so rewarding watching her grow and change so much everyday. She, like every child is sent from Heaven with such a sweet spirit and mission.  I have been thinking a lot about how I can raise Lydia to be a women of God in this sometimes cruel world. Margaret D. Nadauld said something in the October 2000 conference which has made me think of what kind of women I want to be and the example I want to set for Lydia. As I read this I can't help but think of my own mother and the example she was to me and the impression she left on so many people in her short time here on earth.

Women of God can never be like women of the world.
The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith.
We have enough greed; we need more goodness.
We have enough vanity; we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

I think I can add to that and say we have enough grown-ups in this worlds, lets be more like little children who have unconditional love for everyone without judging. Just look at that smile! Lets have more smiles like that in life! (ok, I guess we need to be a grown-up sometimes)

Beauty Queen

We had a rough week but as you can see Lydia is all better and her future is now looking bright!
Now that last week is behind us we are definitely laughing with you
Lydia has had an obsession with my necklaces lately, ok not just mine but anyones, and as soon as she spots one she is determined to get it in her mouth.
She is especially in love with a heart necklace that was my mothers
So today I let her have a hay day and I had fun taking pictures of her!
